Europe is an important continent for its economy as well as for its culture. It has beautiful countries which are the perfect combination of technology and history. Europe has many touristic places; archeological finds from ancient cultures, spectacular modern constructions or beautiful natural landscapes.
Lots of these are wonders of humanity, they are one of the biggest reasons for the big number of tourists in these countries since tourists are usually looking to visit developed countries but with great history behind them.

The European countries
Europe has 49 countries; all of them with beautiful places however only a few of these tourist attractions are world wonders. The map of Europe will give a general look of all the European countries. The countries in Europe where you can see these wonders are England, Russia, Netherlands, Italy, Greece and France.
The last one has a middle age wonder. To leave something clear, there are different categories for the wonders, they are usually separated by ages or by their origin. We have ancient wonders, middle age wonders, new wonders, there are also natural wonders and a few categories more.
The Cluny Abbey
As it was mentioned, France has a middle age wonder; the Cluny Abbey located in Cluny. It was a monastery which for many years was the center of the monastic movement. It had about 10 000 monks, which made the monastery the most powerful institution in Europe for many years. It had a townhouse called Hôtel de Cluny which is now a museum.
During the French revolution several parts of the building were destroyed and because of the economic crises that was happening many years ago due to bad administrations it was never reconstructed. Even so, its remains are one of the most visited places in France.

France is not the only country in Europe which has a wonder; Greece has two Ancient history wonders: the Statue of Zeus at Olympia and The Colossus of Rhodes. Greek culture is probably one of the richest ones and these two places are a sample of this but each city has something unique and beautiful to offer too. Europe, a great place to live
In each country, city or town in Europe, there are always things to do or see. Although it is a great tourist destination, Europe is also a great place to live.
